Cylinder Warranty
Proper installation is critical, and should be done by a trained chain saw mechanic to OEM. specifications. Most piston failures are due to operator/parts installer error, which includes air leaks, incorrect carburetor settings, incorrect fuel mixture or improper air filter maintenance. To qualify for our cylinder warranty you must perform the necessary steps to ensure the saw is air tight by performing a vacuum and pressure test on the crankcase, and also set the top end RPM’s of the saw to OEM specifications. Ring ends must be gapped to minimum .004″ per inch of bore size. Parts must be properly lubed during assembly and correct fuel/oil mixture ran in the saw.
To qualify for this guarantee you MUST carefully read and follow the information contained on this page. There are several ways to void the guarantee, please be sure to not make that mistake.
*Pressure and Vacuum tests must be performed on the bottom end of the saw before running the new parts. An air leak is the most common cause for top end failure. If you have an air leak and do not fix it your new parts will quickly fail. Failures caused by air leaks are not covered by this guarantee. A good indication that you have an air leak is if your old piston had scoring on the exhaust side. This must be fixed before running your new parts.
*Piston rings must be gapped at the top of the cylinder to a minimum of .004” per inch of bore size (for example a 52mm cylinder would need to be gapped to .009” minimum. Piston rings that are not gapped can touch ends and break.
*Fuel should be non-ethanol with a high quality synthetic 2 stroke oil mix at 50:1 ratio. We use Belray H-1R which is one of the best. Fuel with ethanol should be avoided. Cheap 2 stroke oil should be avoided.
*Grinding, porting, or any other modifications void the guarantee
*Air filters must be kept clean and sealed tightly to the carburetor. Dirt ingestion will ruin your new parts
*Top end RPM’s must be set to factory specs. For example the Husqvarna 372xp is rated at 13,500 maximum RPM’s. Running it at 15,000 RPM’s is hard on it and could cause premature parts failure.
If you have carefully read and followed these guidelines please be confident that our manufacturers will stand behind their parts if you experience any issues. This guarantee covers replacement of the part with a new one of similar value for the period of 1 year from original date of purchase.
